Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) at Watkins Middle School and Why It Matters
At Watkins Middle School, we are committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and encouraging learning environment through the implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). Rather than emphasizing what students do wrong, PBIS focuses on recognizing and reinforcing what students do right. This proactive approach allows us to teach, acknowledge, and reward positive behavior, promoting a culture where all students can succeed.
Students are celebrated for demonstrating PRIDE — Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Dependable, and Excellence — through our PBIS Rewards system.
PBIS is an evidence-based, three-tiered framework designed to enhance and align the data, systems, and practices that influence student outcomes. Watkins Middle School is proud to be one of 85 CFISD's campuses implementing PBIS to create a positive, predictable, equitable, and safe learning environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive.
Students can redeem their PRIDE Points at “Bulldogs ‘R’ Us,” our on-campus rewards store. The store offers a variety of incentives, including:
-
Special privileges such as a "Lunch Fast Pass"
-
VIP experiences like "Lunch with Lagard"
-
Fun toys and school spirit items
-
A wide selection of snacks
